A Life Lesson from Mickey Rooney

rooneyMickey Rooney, the legendary actor whose career spanned more than 80 years, died this week. When asked by the Associated Press in 2008 why he continued to work so late in life, his answer was: “I always say, don’t retire–inspire. There’s a lot to be done.” This is a good principle for all of us to live by. Even when we get to the point in life where we can’t do all the things we used to do, we can still inspire others by the example we set, the acts of kindness we perform and the words of encouragement we give out. What Mr. Rooney is telling us is that we’re never too old to do the things that make the world a better place.
