Never be Afraid to Start Over

Chasing Arrows

I’ve talked to a number of people over the years who have tried something once and failed and are reluctant to try again. When I hear this, I’m reminded of the following quote from Pooh and Friends, “Don’t be afraid to start over. This time you’re not starting from scratch. You’re starting from experience.” What these people fail to realize is that they have learned a lot from their failed try, which means their probability of succeeding on their next try is much greater. Think about when you were learning how to ride a bike. You probably didn’t succeed on your first attempt, but you kept on trying, applying what you learned during your previous failed attempts and very quickly you achieved success. So, never be afraid to start over. You just may succeed on your very next try!
