My Weekly Reminder

As the holiday shopping season heats up, malls and stores become more and more crowded which dramatically increases the stress levels of many shoppers.  Some of these up tight shoppers vent their increased stress at retail clerks by being rude, mean and nasty toward them.  This, in turn, makes their job incredibly difficult and thankless during what should be a happy and festive time of the year.  If you want to make a big difference in these clerks’ lives, you might consider being extra nice to them this time of the year.  As they’re ringing up your merchandise, smile and say something to them that brightens their day.  One person that I recently read about carries candy in his pocket like Hershey’s Kisses or small bags of M&Ms.  Then after he pays for his merchandise, he hands the clerk a couple of Kisses or a bag of M&Ms and says “Merry Christmas” or whatever he thinks the appropriate seasonal greeting might be for this person.  So, make it a point to be extra nice to retail clerks this holiday season.  You’ll find that doing so not only puts a smile on their face, it will put one on yours as well.  Isn’t that what the holiday season is all about?
