I recently took a cab from the Conference Center on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin to the Austin airport. The cab driver turned out to be from Morocco and was very pleasant and chatty. When we arrived at the airport he asked me if I wanted a blank receipt for the fair or if I wanted him to fill it out. I said, “It doesn’t matter, because I don’t cheat.” He then turned around so he could see me and said, “You know, if you do the right thing, you live longer.” I responded with, “That’s very interesting.” The cab driver went on to say, “If you do the right thing, you feel better and everybody likes you–that’s why you live longer.” I remember thinking to myself, “This is excellent advice that pretty much says it all.”
Ross,
Honesty goes along way, just ask your cab driver!
Take care,
KCA
