Lying Always Makes Matters Worse

...lying never makes things better...

…lying never makes things better…

When high profile people get caught doing something wrong, instead of admitting it and accepting the consequences, they often try to lie their way out of the situation by denying any wrongdoing. History has shown many times that this never works. Eventually, the truth comes out and not only is their image further tarnished because of the lying, but they have to live with the fact that they severely disappointed those people who stood by them. This is the case with Major League Baseball player Ryan Braun. A year ago he tested positive for performance enhancing drugs, but the charge was dismissed because of a technicality.  Mr. Braun then went on to publicly deny that he ever had anything to do with performance enhancing drugs and a lot of people believed him including close friend, Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rogers. When the truth came out Mr. Rogers was very disappointed. According to azcentralsports.com, this is what he had to say: “…I was shocked, I really was…I was backing up a friend, who looked me in the eye on multiple occasions and repeatedly denied these allegations, said they weren’t true. So it is disappointing, not only for myself as a friend but for obviously Wisconsin sports fans, Brewer fans, Major League Baseball fans. It doesn’t feel great being lied to like that, and I’m disappointed about the way it all went down.” The lesson in this for all of us is lying never makes things better; it always make them worse.
