Visiting with a sick friend can feel awkward and even stressful. We want to say the right things, but we’re sometimes not sure of what those right things are. I came across an article in a recent issue of The Wall Street Journal which contains some sound advice on how to avoid insensitive or hurtful remarks when visiting with a sick friend. The author, Letty Cottin Pogrebin is a breast cancer survivor and writes from the patient’s point of view. She has written 10 books and is a founding editor of Ms. Magazine. This article is adapted from her latest book is How to be a Friend to a Friend Who’s Sick. I think you will find it interesting and worth reading. Here is the link: The Wall Street Journal
