My oldest daughter recently posted this quote on her Facebook and I think it’s one of the keys to living a happy life. Every one of us comes into the world as a unique individual–an original, if you will. It’s our originality that makes us loveable and attracts people to us. When we try to be someone else, we compromise our originality and become phonies.
Phonies are generally not very happy because they’re not very lovable and the only people they attract are other phonies. In addition, being a phony is very hard work because you have to be very careful of what you say and do. On the other hand, being yourself allows you to say and do the things that come naturally to you–there’s no work involved and it feels so good.
So, be yourself and let the real “you” shine through. Others will love you for it and you’ll be happy because of it.
Excellent. I really like the addition of the Something to Ponder and hope it doesn’t get overlooked because it is not in the body of the message.
Thanks, Marcia. I really appreciate your comments. Have a great day!
Ross – once again you’re way out front – quoting Marilyn Manson on your site. Man, you will go anywhere there’s a great point of view. Didn’t see that one coming. If anyone knows how to be himself, it’s Marilyn Manson! Wow.
Thanks Gary. It’s a really great quote that hits the nail right on the head. Thanks for your response.
Thank you Katie and Ross-that says it all. Mary MIller
Thank you Mary. Hope all is well. Ross
Thank you for sharing this with all!
I try to live by this on a daily basis, eventhough society and the corporate world at times asks you adapt to their needs, which can compromise “Being Yourself” Dont allow it and stay real…
Alfredo, thank you so much for your comment. You are right on the money. Have a great day!
