How to Replace Negative Thoughts with Positive Ones

Positive Thoughts

With all the negative things going on in the world today, it’s easy to get caught up in negative thoughts and miss seeing all the good things that are going on. This can have a depressing effect on our happiness and productivity. Two German Psychologists, Carmen Lobbe of the University of Kassel and Kathrin Reinke of the Technical University of Darmstadt, have come up with a simple exercise can turn this process around. It’s called the Three Good Things Method (TGT). Here’s how it works: Each day find a quiet moment and write down three things that went well that day. Then, reflect on why these things have gone so well. Their research has shown that doing this on a daily basis will drive negative thoughts out of your mind and replace them with positive ones. This will not only make you happier, but more productive as well.
