It’s long been said that two heads are better than one. Even better than that is a group of 6-8 people who regularly get together to kick ideas around. About four months ago, I happened into a restaurant on a Saturday morning and noticed someone who I’d only met two or three times sitting with a friend. I said hello, was introduced to her friend and then moved on. Two months ago, I walked into that same restaurant and there they were again. We started talking this time and pretty soon the conversation became so facinating that I pulled up a chair. The meeting was so lively and upbeat that we decided to meet again on the following Saturday. Now, two months later, our group has grown to seven and everyone considers the meeting as one of the highlights of their week. We all come out of the meeting energized and full of possibilities–and we continue to talk on the way to our cars. We’ve even begun having the group over to our homes for dinner. My wife has dubbed our group as the “thinkubators.” I don’t know if the name will stick, but this group sure has added a lot of zest to my life. So, the next time even the most casual of acquiantences comes up to you and starts a conversation, take the time to listen for a while. If you do, you just might be starting a “thinkubator” group.
