Over the years, I’ve observed a lot of people who, when things don’t go as they had planned, they become angry, upset or have a “melt-down.” During the process, they make themselves and those around them miserable. Hey, delays and interruptions are a part of life and it’s always been that way–to expect otherwise is to be grossly naive. I recently experienced a day that was filled with unexpected interruptions. It’s started with my cell phone not holding a charge. After nearly an hour’s wait at the phone store, they gave me a new phone. When I got home, I found that my phone charger no longer worked, so I needed to go back to the phone store. At this point I said to myself, “Ross, it’s probably going to be one of those days.” So, I took a deep cleansing breath, put a smile on my face and said, “I’m going to enjoy this ride.” This didn’t stop the many further interruptions I experienced that day such the two trips each to Best Buy and Radio Shack when I discovered that my computer didn’t work, but it did make the journey far more pleasant and bearable. On top of that, I met some really wonderful people along the way. So, then next time you begin to experience one of those “days from hell,” you have a choice: you can tighten up and make yourself miserable or you can lighten up and actually enjoy the experience.
But other than that Mrs. Lincoln how did you like the play?
Dear Craig,
I absolutely loved the play. Thanks for you comment. Have a great day! Ross
