There’s no Such Thing as a Trivial Act of Kindness

Kindness

Whenever I run into someone who I know has recently performed an act of kindness, I will complement them for having done so. The response I most often get back goes something like, “Oh, it was really nothing” or “It was no big deal.” This tells me they don’t understand the power of what they just did. Just because performing a kind act doesn’t cost much or require much effort doesn’t mean it didn’t have a powerful impact on the receiver. As Gandhi put it, “The simplest acts of kindness are by far more powerful than a thousand heads bowing in prayer.” Even the smallest acts of kindness can make someone’s day, bring back their belief in themselves and restore their faith in the goodness of people. So, be the change you want to see in the world. Perform those seemingly trivial acts of kindness knowing that you are making the world a better place for everyone you touch with your kind acts.
