Minimalist Joshua Becker asserts in a blog post that for far too many people, the desire to impress others is their major motivator in life. This desire determines the cars they buy, the clothes they wear, the technology the embrace and so forth. He goes on to say that this often proves to be elusive because cars rust, fashion changes and technology advances. Mr. Becker points out that there is a better way to impress others that feels good and actually works. He then presents a list of “15 Surefire Ways to Impress Others.” I’d like to share a few of these with you.
- Be Modest. Each of us is special, unique, and gifted. And the less we make an effort to tell everyone that, the more they will notice.
- Be Content. A contented life is enjoyable, desirable, and admirable. Those who don’t have it, desire it. And are impressed with those who have.
- Don’t Live to Impress. Live to Inspire. Give up your desire to impress everyone you meet. But never give up your desire to inspire everyone you meet.
