I’ve just gone through more than a month of twice-daily antibiotic infusion treatments at a local hospital. During that time, I had the opportunity to observe the nurses in the Ambulatory Treatment Unit in action under all sorts of circumstances. Let me tell you, I’ve never seen a more caring group of people—ever. They’re constantly listening to, comforting and reassuring their patients all the while they’re performing their very critical tasks. They go out of their way to make sure their patients are comfortable—applying warm blankets to those who are cold, getting them water or juice and providing crackers to those who feel nauseous. Furthermore, they do all this with a reassuring sense of confidence and cheerfulness. Being around these people was so uplifting that I actually looked forward to going to the hospital for those twice-daily treatments. So, my hat is off to nurses everywhere. They truly do make the world a better place.
Thanks for sharing this! I work in the education department at a community hospital and frequently share your reminders with my co-workers, many of who are nurses. They work very hard to train our new staff to put patients first and to provide the best care possible! Thanks for recognizing nurses everywhere!
Ross, I trust your treatment has been effective. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Best Wishes for a Healthy New Year!
Ross, You are right-on! I shared this on my FB page. Best wishes for your healing and recovery. Excellent reflection. Thank you!
