This week’s Reminder is a success story from a subscriber in Monterrey, Mexico. It contains numerous lessons for achieving success in life and at work:
“Hi Ross,
Just wanted to let you know of my success story. I believe it is important for me, and it may serve somehow to you.
I still remember your first lesson and words on the seminar: “successful people, have what it takes!”
I just wanted to let you know that I´ve been using your PRAM Model, your Weekly Reminders, building relationships and passing on your Win/Win message which has resulted in great things for me and my career.
After your seminar, as a mid-range supervisor, day after day, I practiced these topics. Day after day, I provide appreciation, I thank employees for their effort, I praise their good results and help them to improve where they need help on. Each day I learned something new or improved my knowledge in my area or in a different one. And, in the end, I am getting what I pursued for several years which is a promotion to a senior management level.
When the announcement was made, I was astonished as to how many people recognized my achievement and how glad and happy my co-workers were with my accomplishment. “It was obvious,” they said. This gave me a tremendous feeling of satisfaction, but after a few days thinking about it, I am convinced, that my achievements are the results of the work of the people who worked for me all that time.
In other words, caring and believing in people have paid off for me. I am still learning on the new job, as it relates more to politics, but I have a good foundation and I am convinced I will be successful.
Thanks for everything.”
