People Remember Kind People

Someone posted the following quote on Facebook; “Kindness is the most tender and powerful way of leaving a memory inside people’s hearts.” People appreciate being on the receiving end of kind acts and they remember the people who perform them. For example, I always try to extend some form of kindness to people in retail positions because they have to put up with a lot inconsiderate behavior from the people they serve. One day as I was checking out at a supermarket, I asked the checker how her day was going. She responded with, “Wow! Somebody asking me how my day is going; now there’s a switch!” We then proceeded to have a very pleasant conversation. A month later, I was back at that same supermarket and the check-out lines were long. As I was trying to decide which long line to stand in, that same clerk tapped me on the shoulder and said, “Follow me. I’ll open my register for you” As I was thanking her for doing so, she looked at me and said, “We always remember the kind ones.”
