My Weekly Reminder
It’s difficult to pick up a newspaper or turn on the television without being bombarded with bad news about the economy. A recent article in the Arizona Republic cited an annual survey from the American Psychological Association which said that 80 percent of Americans are stressed about their personal finances and the economy. We all know that stressing over something does no good, but most of us continue to stress anyway. One way to reduce this stress is to take a step back and count your blessings. For example, if you’re reasonably healthy, consider yourself blessed because many people aren’t. Yes, your stock portfolio may have taken a huge hit, but most people in the world don’t have a stock portfolio. If you have roof over your head, keep in mind that many people don’t. Also, think of the children and loved ones in your life who regularly brighten your days. When you think of it, even during these gloomy economic times, most of us still have many blessings that we can count.
