The original of just about anything is always more highly prized than a copy or reproduction. The same holds true for people. That’s why it’s important for you to be yourself instead of trying to impress people by trying to be someone you’re not. Being yourself is what makes you authentic–an “original” if you will. It’s also what makes you lovable and draws other people toward you. Just like fine art, people prize their relationships with people who are real and comfortable with who they are. They don’t value their relationships with phonies. Keep this in mind the next time you’re tempted to follow the crowd and be someone you aren’t.
