All of us like to be on the receiving end of kind acts, but we tend to forget that other people like to be on the receiving end as well. Our acts of kindness can impact other people in a number of ways—sometimes they brighten their day, sometimes they make their day and sometimes they change their life. Columnist Mitch Albom wrote an article in the Detroit Free Press about a homeless Navy veteran whose wife had died some time ago.
The man took it hard and didn’t want to live anymore. He showed up at a Detroit homeless shelter wanting to die, but after the kindness shown him by the people at the shelter, he changed his mind and decided to go on living. So, let’s all make it a point to become more intentional about spreading acts of kindness. As you can see, it can make all the difference in another person’s life.
