My Weekly Reminder

Over the years, I’ve had a number of people tell me that life is a game of “give and take.”  While that phrase may sound perfectly logical, in reality, it’s simply not true.  Instead, life is about giving and receiving. The reason for this is that none of us like “takers.”  Takers use people, so most of us tend to avoid them like the plague.  As a result, takers are, for the most part, lonely and unsuccessful people.  On the other hand, all of us absolutely love “givers” and we tend to fall all over ourselves to do extra nice things for them.  This is why givers are so much more successful.  They understand that the more they give of themselves to others, the more they’ll receive in return.  Recent research conducted jointly by Harvard University and The University of British Columbia also found that givers have profoundly happier lives.  This makes giving the ultimate Win-Win situation.
