Kindness Comes Naturally to Pre-Schoolers

Help

Noah, my four-year-old grandson, attends a pre-school which he loves. He has a best friend who attends the same pre-school. One day, as my wife was dropping him off outside the school, she ran in to the best friend’s mother. She said that her son told her that he was not going to have a good day at school. Noah did not overhear the conversation, but as he approached his friend, he could tell by the expression on his face that he was not in good spirits. Without hesitation, he reached into his backpack, pulled out a colorful sticker and handed it to his friend. Noah then took his hand, the two hugged, and walked into school together with big smiles. His friend was about to have a good day after all and so was Noah. We adults can learn much from Noah’s example.

  1. Dear Ross,
Your grandson Noah is an exception. My daughter exhibited the same exception ( intuition, discernment, instinct , compassion) and was labeled “an old soul.” It sounds like Noah fits that description as well.
Keep a close eye on him, shield him from all the world’s (and classroom’s) negativity through high school and he will remain an insightful, kind person. I know from experience.
    Be his Sage…
    Your fan,
    George
