Nothing is more frustrating or demoralizing than to go the extra mile and have nobody notice.  Such an experience can really take the wind out of your sails and quell your desire to do it again.  On the other hand, people absolutely thrive in an environment where their efforts get noticed and they become very excited about doing nice things for the people who do the noticing.  So, make it a point to catch those around you doing something right.  Bestow on them a sincere “thank you” or a hearty “great job!”  When you do this, you will absolutely make these people’s days and, you can rest assured, that it won’t be long before one of them makes yours.
