Mel Brooks is an 88 year old film director, screenwriter, comedian, actor, producer, composer and songwriter. At the present time, he’s appearing in his first solo stage production which means he’s still going strong. According to a blurb compiled by Ann Oldenburg that appeared in a recent issue of USA Today, Mr. Brooks offered this advice to young up-and-comers: “Keep aiming at something that is more glorious than just a job. …You get one life. You have a dream, pursue it. Pursue it at 100 miles per hour.” This is excellent advice for all of us because, regardless of our age, we’re all still “up-and-comers.”
