My Weekly Reminder

Kory Floyd, a researcher at Arizona State University, has found that being nice–letting people know that you care about them–has some important health benefits associated with it:  It can lower stress, moderate blood pressure and reduce the risk of depression.  Mr. Floyd also points out that you can’t just think about being nice in order to enjoy these health benefits; you must convey the feeling that you care.  For a loved one, this would involve giving them a hug, holding their hand or telling them that you loved them.  For a friend this would involve something like letting them know that you appreciate their friendship.  For people you’re not as close to, including strangers, being nice would involve things like holding the door for the person behind you or stopping to listen after you ask someone how things are going.  So, if you want to feel better, get out there and start spreading some niceness!

Feedback From Subscribers

This past weeks, I received the following emails regarding last week’s Weekly Reminder on Persistence:

“Morning Ross:

Love your reminders every week. I am being PERSISTENT. My dream of a golf academy is coming true… Yeah!!!

You are my inspiration and reminder that I will return to my book.

Blessings.”

“Ross,

I love the quotes from Einstein and Edison about persistence. They made my day. I wrote them down in my Day Timer for later reference when I feel I need it.”
