A Lesson about Kindness from a Pre-Schooler

Sunflowers

My wife was walking Noah, our three-year-old grandson, from the parking lot into the pre-school that he attends. On the way, they noticed one of Noah’s classmates walking beside his mom carrying a large bunch of sunflowers. He proceeded to hand one to the teacher who was directing traffic. Her response was, “Wow! You made my day!” He then proudly handed them to the four other teachers who were in the parking lot. Their reactions were similar. He also handed them to other adults as he made his way into the school. My wife noted that everyone who was watching what was happening had big smiles. This set the tone for their whole day. Not only did the little boy learn a valuable lesson about kindness, but those looking on—both kids and adults—learned the lesson as well. Hats off to the little boy’s mom!
