The following quote from Mary Davis posted on everydayspirit.net says it all: “Bring love wherever you go. Shine light wherever it’s dark. Leave blessings wherever you’ve been. Be kind wherever you are.” If you do this, you’ll quickly notice how people start to smile the instant they see you heading in their direction. Why? Because you make them feel good—you’re there to give, not take. Everybody wants to be around someone like this. A friend of mine named Barb decided to give this idea a try. For a month, every time she went to her favorite grocery store, she made sure she interacted with every employee she came into contact with. She showed an interest in what they were doing, how their personal life was going and learned each of their names. They, in turn, learned these same things about her. Now, when she goes to that store, these same employees smile, greet her by name and are excited to see her. Her comment to me was, “Going to the grocery store is now fun!” The lesson here is: if you take the time to let your love show, going to the grocery will be fun for you as well!
