We Can’t Afford Not to Be Kind

Kindness

Some people look at performing acts of kindness as the expenditure of time and effort to benefit someone else. This is simply not true. The big winner for being kind is you—for several reasons. First, performing acts of kindness makes you happier and the more acts of kindness you perform, the happier you become. Second, you make the world a better place because your act of kindness makes the recipient happier. That person is now inclined to perform acts of kindness for those around him or her and so forth. Third, acts of kindness have a homing sense about them. Eventually your original act of kindness, in one way or another, will find its way back to you which adds some excitement to your life. Fourth, performing acts of kindness puts your true character on display. This attracts other people to you which expands your base of influence, opens doors, and puts you in a position to take charge and lead. When you think about it, we can’t afford not to be kind.
