A friend of mine posted this quote by writer Nikki Banas on Facebook. It’s titled, Impact. I think it captures the essence of why we should be kind. “You never really know the true impact you have on those around you. You never know how much someone needed that smile you gave them. You never know how much your kindness turned someone’s entire life around. You never know how much someone needed that long hug or deep talk. So don’t wait to be kind. Don’t wait for someone else to be kind first. Don’t wait for better circumstances or for someone to change. Just be kind, because you never know how much someone needs it.”
Ross,
My yard, front and back, is full of leaves. Today I heard a noise and thought that it was the neighbor blowing his leaves and when I went to move my plants outside from the garage I saw that the noise was in my front yard. John blew all of the leaves out of my front yard and I raked them into bags. He came back after lunch and mowed the front yard. I thanked him many times this morning. It was such a grateful gesture for the grass was so long I could not rake the leaves so he used the blower. What a good neighbor. (I usually make a rhubarb custard pie and share with him in the spring but no rhubarb so I will have to think of something else.) My yard man was to show up last week and mow but did not appear so this was my problem, long grass which prevented me from raking.
