My Weekly Reminder

Letting go of things that are familiar, comfortable and secure is one of the hardest things for many people to do–it’s called taking a risk.  Yet, clinging to these things is what keeps us from achieving our full potential.  This life lesson is best illlustrated by looking at the life of a young eagle.  The nest represents the young eagle’s entire world–the only place it’s ever been.  The nest is a very secure place where the young eagle is protected by its parents who keep it constantly supplied with food.  The thought of leaving the nest is scary because it’s a long way to the ground with nothing in between to break the fall.  Yet this young eagle knows that it will never achieve its potential until it leaves the nest.  So, one day it works up the courage and lets go of the nest and lo and behold, it soars!  The same thing will happen to us when we let go of those things that keep us from soaring.
