My Weekly Reminder

According to a recent issue of USA Today, more and more research is showing that people who have friends at work are far more productive.  The reason is pretty straight forward: “People will give a lot more effort, if they care about the people they’re working with.  The article also pointed out that people with friends at work are far more satisfied with their jobs, are more engaged with their work, have fewer accidents and have a more satisifying personal lives–all of which has a positive impact on company profitability.  There is a lesson here for everyone:  If you’re an employee and you want to increase your chances for success, start making friends at work.  Your friends have a vested interest in seeing you do well.  If you’re a team leader, supervisor or manager, the more friendship you foster, the more productive your group will be.  Finally, if you’re a high ranking executive, the more friendship you foster in the workplace, the more profitable you organization will be.  As you can see, friendship pays off for everyone.

Ross Reck's Revved!

Third Anniversary of the Reminder

This issue marks the third anniversary of Ross Reck’s Weekly Reminder.  I would like to once again say thank you to the people who attended my seminar three years ago at McGill University in Montreal who suggested I take on this project.  It has been a very enriching and rewarding experience.
