My Weekly Reminder
I have always wondered what the phrase, “Age is a state of mind,” meant. Recently I came across a daunting quotation that told me the answer. It went something like this, “You become old when your dreams are replaced by regrets.” What this means is that many people reach a point in their life where they stop focusing on things they would like to do and start focusing on things they wish they had done when they had the chance. There are two life lessons here if you want to continue to feel young while you continue to grow older. First, you’re never too old to dream or pursue those dreams–opportunities are always there. Second, don’t let opportunities to pursue a dream pass you by–go for it when you have the chance. That way, you’ll have no regrets to focus on later in life. Yes, age is a state of mind, but it’s also a choice. As Mary Kay Ash said, “Most people live and die with their music still inside. They never dare to try.”
