A recent article in The Wall Street Journal written by Elizabeth Bernstein points out that we actually get nicer with age. Several large research studies show that as we get older our positive traits such as being polite, preferring cooperation over competition and feeling compassion for others tend to increase. At the same time our negative traits such worrying and feeling anxious, temperamental and moody tend to decrease. In other words, as we get older our personalities tend to become more positive which makes us all more lovable which, in turn, makes us happier. I think this is wonderful news and gives us all something positive to look forward to as we age.
Ross, I like your daily reminders about getting older. Think you should post it on facebook. Give the younger ones something to look forward to. It is true what you posted. I see it in my own life. thanks.
